Love In Action Retreat 2025
50 Girls. 3 Days. 1 Unforgettable Retreat
From April 11–13, 2025, the highly anticipated LIA Retreat came to life at Adom Fie, Santasi. With 50girls in attendance, this year’s theme—“Modesty”—wove its way through every conversation and activity. The weekend was filled with impactful workshops, inspiring talks, drama, games, worship, and so much laughter! Each girl left with memories and lessons to last a lifetime.
Highlights from the Retreat
The retreat was designed to nurture not just the minds of the girls, but their hearts and spirits as well. But what truly made the weekend unforgettable was the sense of love, safety, and belonging that filled the space.
The program featured a rich variety of sessions that left lasting impressions:
Modesty Workshop – our Executive Director, Rosebud Boakye who unpacked the beauty and importance of modesty.
Abena’s Story – a thought-provoking drama performed by Dunamis Theatre.
Feminine Hygiene & Dealing With Sexual Assault – an empowering session with Dr. E. Crentsil, Gynaecologist.
Panel Discussion – “A Male Perspective on Modesty,” our panel of men offered insights and dialogue about modesty.
Plus plenty of games, prayer, worship, and the Word, creating a perfect balance of learning and fun.
A Full Circle Moment
Perhaps the most touching aspect of this year’s retreat was seeing four alumni from our very first retreat in 2016 step back into the space—serving alongside our staff and volunteers. Their presence was living proof that the seeds planted years ago are continuing to grow, flourish, and bear fruit.
Lasting Impact
By the time the retreat came to a close, one thing was certain: no one wanted to leave. The lessons learned, and the joy shared had created something truly special. The 2025 LIA Retreat was more than just an event; it was a movement of mending broken self-esteem and building up.
Word On The Street: From Our Girls and Their Parents...
Feedback about the LIA retreat from girls who attended and their parents has been overwhelmingly positive. Several parents and guardians have reached out to share how excited their daughters have been since returning from the retreat. The retreat has become a topic of conversation across St Augustine’s Basic School - with teachers and students who couldn’t attend, wishing they had attended!
Our hearts are truly full as we reflect back on the retreat. It’s our prayer that beyond the memories and excitement, each girl carries the key messages from the retreat close to her heart.
